Forbes Consulting combines compassion for people with management skills to provide clients “a holistic approach to business.” The holistic
approach is concerned with integrated wholes or complete systems rather than with the analysis or treatment of separate parts. The approach
infuses business protocols and the individual spirit; workshops, keynote addresses, consultations and technical assistance, integrate business and
holistic practices, to promote personal and professional development and increase organizational effectiveness.
Members of the board of directors and owners/managers of nonprofit organizations and small businesses have great passion for the goals,
vision and mission of the agency; however many of these leaders lack the business skills necessary to effectively manage and build the
capacity of the agency. The primary steps to becoming an agent of change for your organization is to recognize the existing capacity and the
fundamental needs of the board, staff and services. Organizational Management is essential for nonprofit organizations to understand. The
consultant assists the client to develop Value Management Plans (VMP), which uses business models and the accepted business policies,
practices and protocols.
Alfred L Forbes, MBA -principal consultant, conducts client assessments using a variety of tools, e.g. SWOT or Problem Solving, to develop
a Scope of Work. Based on the results of the needs assessment Mr. Forbes works with the client to develop an Action Plan to Accentuate
the Positive by mitigating the challenges and building the core competencies within the organization. As an experienced facilitator and
consultant, Mr. Forbes provides assistance for organizational stakeholders to develop strategic plans, develop collaborations and build the
organization's resources. Ultimately, the capacity of the organization is enhanced by improving the skills of the Leadership Team to develop
internal controls and governance protocols.
Mr Forbes provides an array of services and skill building workshops tailored for clients on a variety of psychosocial topics. The workshops are
developed to identify and address the challenges that may hinder the growth of the organization. Mr. Forbes has been working as an
educator, consultant and facilitator with non-profits and small businesses for over fifteen years. In 2003, Mr. Forbes established his own
consulting firm to work nationally as an independent consultant with community and faith-based organizations, departments of health and
community planning groups. He has served as a motivational speaker for several organizations and has presented skill building workshops
at national, regional and local conferences on a variety of topics pertaining to diverse populations.
